Hi!!! Today's story is about an egotistic elephant, who soon met his end at the hands - well, wings of a little sparrow. This story reminds us not to be proud and arrogant of ourselves. It's not good to be proud of yourself, because you can become rude with your arrogance and become like this: "I'm the best and no one is as good as me!!" This attitude can cause a bad relationship with friends and family. It can also lead to your downfall in life. You won't be left with anyone to turn to if needed. That's why you shouldn't be proud and egotistic of yourself.
Let's go…
In the deep, dark jungle, at the top of a tall neem tree, lived a sparrow couple. They were the nicest of sparrows. Their love knew no bounds for each other. They lived on one of the highest branches in the jungle, which gave them a beautiful view of the ground below. Mrs Sparrow was a kind and just lady, who cared for the birds who lived around her. Mr Sparrow was a hard-working and just bird, who would always fight for the greater good. Together they made a great pair. They lived their life to the fullest, until one day. One beautiful day.
During the dawn, when the sun turned from a ball of fire to a vivid sphere with streaks of paint-like colours in the sky, the Sparrows woke up for a surprise. Leaning to the side of the nest, were three white, oval-shaped eggs, speckled with dark brown spots on the bottom. The soon-to-be parents cried with joy. Mr Sparrow hugged his wife and stared at the eggs. They were overjoyed that they would become parents. But, their dreams were shattered in an elephantine way.
One day, when Mr and Mrs Sparrow had stayed home to take care of their eggs, when a BANG shook the tree. They were shocked!! They saw an elephant down there, pounding his head into the tree. He shouted, "I'm the best!!! There's no one better than me!! This tree has to come down!!!" Mr Sparrow and his wife ran to the eggs. They were rolling to the edge!!! Mr Sparrow caught his eggs just as they tipped over the twigs. He clutched the eggs close to his body and told his wife, "Let's go!!" Mrs Sparrow agreed. As they were lifting off, another BANG hit the tree. Mr Sparrow had tripped!! He flapped his wings, but he forgot that there were eggs in his grasp. They fell down, leaving Mrs and Mr Sparrow to be childless. They screamed down to the eggs, "NOOOOOO!!!!" The eggs fell to the ground and cracked. There was no chance of getting them back. As they flew to another tree, Mr and Mrs Sparrow looked down at the broken tree. Splinters were flying everywhere. None of the birds could face the mad elephant. But, one thing was for sure. Mr and Mrs Sparrow would get their revenge against the tyrant. They would avenge their kids.
The next day, Mr Sparrow and his wife met the Jungle Security Committee. They explained what had happened. They saw other birds who witnessed the attack join them in describing the onslaught. The leader of the Jungle Security Committee, Lt. Col. Froggy McFrog, acknowledged this incident. "This calls for a Special Forces takedown!!!" said Mr McFrog. They all went to the King of the Jungle's palace (Can you guess who it was? It's the Lion!!). He was also the Commander of his own army, the Special Forces!! When they all went to the lion's throne, they pleaded him to see this mission through. " Please, O King!!! This elephant was preposterous!!! He destroyed our tree!!!" Screamed Mr Sparrow. The king was completely astounded. He had never heard of such an incident!!! The king wanted to help them, but his team of spies were out on another mission!!! Everyone begged the king to try and stop the mad elephant, but he said a straight-up NO.
The animals returned with a heavy heart and re-assembled at the HQ of the Security Committee. Mr Sparrow declared, "We need to do something about this!!" All of the other animals agreed. Even the Lieutenant Colonel agreed to it!!! They started hatching a plan. It was the most fool-proof plan that the jungle had ever seen!! Or so said Lt. Col. Froggy McFrog. They raced to prepare all of the tricks and traps that the elephant could die from. The next day, they got ready to kill the elephant.
The sun was shining brightly over the jungle and the elephant was lounging under a shady palm tree. The elephant was drifting off to sleep, when a mosquito came buzzing in front of him. It was buzzing a lovely tune, to which the elephant replied with a sigh. He closed his eyes and rested his huge head on the tree trunk. He smiled to himself and drifted off to sleep. Suddenly, a woodpecker dived onto the elephant's face and pecked on the elephant's eyes!!! Slowly, it pierced the eyes and the elephant roared in pain. It ran madly, blind in both eyes. Blood gushed from them. He tried to run to a small lake and wash his eyes. But, he couldn't see!! He was reliant only on his sense of hearing and smell. He ran in all directions. There were no water bodies near the elephant. Just then, the elephant heard a croak. It was the croak of a frog!!!! He ran towards the frog. But, that frog was none other than Froggy McFrog!!! He closed in on the sound. Suddenly, he fell into a large pit, which was dug deep into the ground. The elephant cried in agony, and died soon. The animals rejoiced, for the death of the elephant gave them peace and harmony thereafter. As for the Sparrows, well, They became the Secretaries of the Jungle Security Committee.
